Freezing in the face of AI

In many ways, my world ended in 2023. AI came out in 2022, and in 2022 I dismissed it as a better search engine, even though it was probably more personalized than google, but a search engine nonetheless. I could paste errors into it, and while it wasnt usually correct, it could give me a rough idea of where the issue in my code lay, and I could start tracing and debugging from there. Then in 2023, it became able to solve problems or to provide better answers than i expected and I could see the potential in it and the radically different technology it could be. Now, when humans face a threat, there are usually 2 responses; Fight or Flight; I dont think humans choose any of those modes consciously, it's just something that happens. A crisis happens and your body puts you in the mode that it wants, and maybe later after the crisis passes, you look back and say "maybe I shouldnt have reacted this way" , but you couldnt not have reacted that way. In that momemnt, you do not really have a choice. I am afraid to say that when confronted with the vision of AI that was omniscient, faster and more funded than I could probably ever be, I froze. I stopped bettering my skills, stopped making long-term future plans, stopped being optimistic about the future , and just kind of shrinked down my circle of concern to things nobody could ever take away from me ; my body and my immediate family. I regret to say that was the wrong decision, as it is now. It is a period of great changes, and probably great upheavals, freezing in one place doesnt really help my cause, and even if it does, can one person really stand in the way of such a relentless machine? I have decided that I do not care about AI and the world it births, I will rejoice when it ushers in a new age of abundance or if it doesnt, but in the meantime, my life will go on, I will study and improve my skills, I will make long-term plans, I will use AI at my job, I will increase my velocity in all areas of my life, and I shall march forward. I shall not be afraid anymore.
